Assorted sunscreen tubes and skincare products on a white background, with brands like Haruharu Wonder, Purito, Aestura and Medicube.

Over the years — between filming in Vancouver, café-hopping in Seattle, and chasing afternoon tea across London and Edinburgh — I've built a travel skincare edit that actually survives the journey. And, unsurprisingly for anyone who knows my shelf, almost all of it is Korean beauty.

K-beauty just gets travel: clever stick formats that skip the liquids rule, generous trial kits, and featherlight sunscreens that don't melt off your face on a long sightseeing day. Here are the fifteen products that frequently find a place in my carry-on.

Sun Sticks: The Liquid-Rule Loophole

Sun sticks are a great travel hack. They're solid, so they don't count against your liquids allowance, they don't leak at altitude, and you can reapply mid-walk without a mirror. I keep one in every bag and K-beauty sun sticks are superior to anything else on the market.

Light blue TOCOBO Cotton Soft Sun Stick with red logo and SPF50 PA++++ text on a white background.

The cult favourite, and for good reason. It glides on with a genuinely soft, almost powdery finish — no greasy slip, no white cast that ruins your photos. This is the one I hand to friends when I'm trying to convert them to the stick life. Perfect for a city day when you're ducking in and out of bookshops and museums and forgot to apply before you left the hotel.

White and blue Make Prem UV defense me calming sun stick bottle on white background, with SPF 50+ PA++++ text.

make p:rem is my pick for sensitive, travel-stressed skin. This calming stick feels soothing rather than tight, which matters when your face is reacting to a new climate or a red-eye flight. The SPF50+ does the heavy lifting while the formula keeps everything calm and comfortable.

Green Haruharu Wonder Black Bamboo Daily Soothing Sun Shield sunscreen stick on white background, SPF 50+/PA++++ visible.

Haruharu Wonder is one of those brands I trust implicitly, and this stick has that signature soft-touch finish that doesn't feel like you're wearing sunscreen at all. It's my reapply-on-the-go hero — the one that lives in my purse on a a regular basis, even when I'm not traveling.

Travel-Size Sunscreens: Big Protection, Tiny Footprint

Sometimes you want the slip and glow of a traditional sunscreen under makeup, and that's where these mini formats come in. Even the full-size bottles are under the liquid limit, so they slide into your clear quart-sized bag without a second thought.

Yellow haruharu wonder Black Rice Moisture Airy Daily Sunscreen tube, SPF50+/PA++++, on a white background.

"Airyfit" is the perfect name — this sinks in weightlessly and leaves zero cast. Haruharu Wonder's black rice formulas always feel nourishing rather than just protective. This is my go-to daily face and body sunscreen and got me through my last trip to Hawaii.

Yellow Hur Weightless Sun Fluid sunscreen bottle on a white background, labeled SPF50+ PA++++.

A more recent discovery that quickly earned a permanent spot in my skincare routine. It's genuinely weightless, with a smooth, almost makeup-primer feel that makes it ideal as the last step before foundation. Lovely for filming days when I want my base to sit flawlessly. And for someone with oily skin, this one keeps me matte under makeup even on a hot, humid day.

White SKIN1004 Madagascar Centella Hyalu-Cica Water-Fit Sun Serum tube with pale blue cap on a plain white background.

This one blurs the line between skincare and sun care in the best way. It feels like a hydrating serum, wears like a dream under makeup, and brings centella's signature calming touch. My go-to when my skin is feeling a little reactive but I still want that dewy, well-rested look on camera. They also have a mini you can toss in your purse or try before you commit.

Purito Daily Soft Touch Sunscreen tube with orange cap on a white background, clean product shot.

Purito is also a popular and trusted K-Beauty brand and their soft-touch finish layers beautifully under everything else. A brilliant little workhorse. Also avaiolable in a mini.

White and blue Beauty of Joseon Relief Sun sunscreen tube on a plain white background, with Korean text visible.

If the original Beauty of Joseon Relief Sun is a viral classic, the Aqua-Fresh version is the lighter, fresher sibling. Rice and B5 keep things hydrating without any heaviness, which is exactly what you want when you're sweating through a packed itinerary. Also available in a 10ml mini.

Trial & Mini Kits: Pre-Decanted Skincare Done Right

Decanting my skincare into little containers is one of my small joys, but I love a mini just s much. K-beauty trial kits solve this entirely — they're pre-sized for travel, they let you trial a full routine, and they're brilliant for not over-committing precious liquids space.

Purple Numbuzin skincare set with box, serum, toner, eye cream, and mask, featuring large 9+ branding on a white background

Six pieces of numbuzin's buzzy NAD+ anti-aging and firming line in one neat set. This is the kit I reach for when I want my whole routine handled for a long trip without packing a single full-size bottle. And this kit even includes soothing collagen under-eye patches - perfect for a the jet-lagged traveler.

Four Centella skincare ampoules in amber, silver, pink, and green beside a white boxed set on a clean white background.

SKIN1004's centella range is a holy grail for calm, happy skin, and this kit packages it into travel-perfect sizes. If your skin tends to flare when you change cities or climates, this is the soothing reset you want in your bag.

IUNIK Centella Mini Set skincare box with toner, serum, and cream bottles on a white background.

iUNIK does gentle, no-nonsense formulas beautifully, and this centella mini set is one of the best value travel kits going. Minimalist, reliable, and exactly the kind of fuss-free routine I want when I'm trying to keep my morning quick before a day of city exploration.

Four mint-green Purito skincare products—two bottles, a tube, and a box—on a white background.

Another Purito favourite, and the unscented part is key for travel — fragrance-free means far less chance of a reaction when your skin is already dealing with new water, new air, and new stress. A safe, soothing little set perfect for on-the-go.

Post-Flight Rescue: The Landing Ritual

There's no faster way to reverse that dehydrated, dull, just-got-off-a-plane look than a great moisturizer or face mask — and these three are the best in the business.

White Aestura Atobarrier 365 cream tube with blue base on plain background, product label visible

Aestura is a derma-favorite for a reason — it rebuilds your skin barrier after the abuse of cabin air and weather changes. This is my non-negotiable night cream on any trip longer than a couple of days. Also available in a mini.

Biodance BIO-COLLAGEN REAL DEEP MASK boxes in rose and white, with a white sheet mask illustration on a clean background

If you've seen a single skincare video in the last couple of years, you've seen this mask. The hype is real. You leave it on overnight (or for a few hours), it melts into a jelly-like layer, and you peel it off to genuinely plump, glassy skin. It's my number-one post-flight recovery move and the thing I most look forward to when I land.

Pink Medicube PDRN Pink Collagen Gel Mask packs and box on white background, with 4EA text and soft pastel pink design

Another great option that give you that lit-from-within glow is Medicube's gel mask. The PDRN and collagen combo leaves my skin looking bouncy and refreshed, and the gel format feels like a cool drink of water after a long travel day.

Everything on this list earns its place by being small, travel-friendly, and genuinely effective — the three things I care about most when I'm living out of a carry-on. Build a little kit of your own, and you'll never again arrive somewhere beautiful only to feel like your skin didn't make the trip with you.
