Afternoon tea in Vancouver isn’t just tea and scones — it’s Victorian heritage houses, Parisian patisseries, elegant lounges, and whimsical garden party fantasies. Whether you’re craving timeless refinement or something Instagram-worthy, the city offers an afternoon tea for every style.

In this guide, I’ll take you inside four of Vancouver’s most enchanting tea experiences: Patisserie Für Elise, Ladurée Robson, Bacchus at the Wedgewood Hotel, and Notch 8 at the Fairmont Hotel Vancouver.

Patisserie Für Elise

847 Hamilton St, Vancouver, BC V6B 2B2

ree
  • Afternoon Tea | $49 Per Person

  • Thur - Fri: 1:00 pm - 8:00 pm

  • Sat - Sun: 11:00 am - 6:00 pm

  • Gluten free options available ($3 extra)

  • Junior tea set for children under 12 ($30)

Tucked inside a restored Victorian heritage home on a quiet Yaletown side street, Patisserie Für Elise feels like a storybook escape. The pastel-toned, two-story salon glows with chandeliers, floral teacups, and Parisian charm.

Downstairs, you’ll find a boutique patisserie filled with candy-colored macarons, sweet treats, and small gifts. Upstairs, the intimate tea house is beautifully decorated with floor-to-ceiling wallpaper, upholstered chairs, and ornate drapery.

Afternoon tea here is $49 per person, making it one of the most affordable options in Vancouver. The experience includes savory bites, delicate pastries, scones, and your choice of loose-leaf tea. Unique blends like China Rose and Blue Earl Grey are served with a pink hourglass timer so you can steep the perfect cup.

The savories feature classics like cucumber sandwiches, smoked salmon mousse cones, and prosciutto and brie croissants. On the sweet side, expect ruby-chocolate madeleines, caramel cream puffs, fruit tarts, and Für Elise’s signature macarons.

While I loved the aesthetic and calm atmosphere, the scones weren’t my favorite — the portions of cream and jam were also quite small. Still, for the price and the picturesque setting, Für Elise is a charming choice.

Ladurée Robson

1141 Robson St, Vancouver, BC V6E 1B5

  • Afternoon Tea | $75 Per Person

  • Mon – Sun: 10am – 9pm

  • Vegetarian options available

If you dream of Paris, Ladurée Robson delivers it in spades. From its mint-green storefront to its glass cases filled with decadent macarons, cakes, and pastel treats, it’s a true French patisserie experience.

The tea salon, hidden in the back of the shop, is intimate and refined with soft pastels and ornate teaware. Afternoon Tea here costs $75 per person and begins with your choice of Ladurée’s famous blends — think floral Rose tea, classic Earl Grey, or Chinese black and green teas. Champagne, wine, and curated cocktails are also available.

The menu includes six small savory bites, dainty madeleines (instead of scones), two macarons or Eugénies, and a small cake of your choice. I tried the raspberry and rose Ispahan, a macaron-style cake layered with fruit and cream — beautiful, rich, and worth saving for later.

Ladurée’s tea service is less about quantity and more about artistry. Every dish is exquisitely plated and indulgent in a delicate, Parisian way. It’s perfect for a special occasion or a serene escape after a Robson Street shopping spree.

Bacchus at the Wedgewood Hotel

845 Hornby St, Vancouver, BC V6Z 1V1

ree

  • Afternoon Tea | $75 Per Person

  • Summer Royal Tea July 5th - Sep 28th 2025

  • Sat - Sun, 2:30pm and 3pm

For a completely different vibe, head to  Bacchus Lounge inside the Wedgewood Hotel. This cozy, moody space feels like an old-world salon with velvet drapes, dark wood, and a marble fireplace. By day it’s bright and elegant; by night it glows with candlelight and live piano.

Bacchus offers seasonal themed teas, and their Summer Afternoon Royal-Tea is priced at $75 per person. Seatings are available at 2:30 or 3:00 p.m., and advance booking is essential. The menu begins with a presentation of TEALEAVES blends in a sampling box so you can choose your tea. Options range from Lavender Earl Grey and Lemon Verbena to fruity blends like Lychee and Wild Strawberry. You can also elevate your experience with Champagne or cocktails — I recommend the Kir Royale.

The savory sandwiches and seasonal pastries were beautifully presented and delicious, though I wasn’t a fan of their scones this time around. Highlights included a fresh mozzarella tomato sandwich and some of the most colorful pastries I’ve had at a Vancouver tea. Service was excellent, and while it’s a pricier option, the intimate, opulent atmosphere makes Bacchus a standout for anyone who appreciates luxury.

Notch 8

900 W Georgia St, Vancouver, BC V6C 2W6

ree

  • Afternoon Tea | $75 Per Person

  • Garden Party Afternoon Tea May 29 - Sep 21st 2025

  • Thur - Sun, 11am, 1:00pm and 3pm

  • Junior tea set for children under 12 ($40)

The Garden Party Afternoon Tea at Notch 8 might just be the most whimsical of them all. Hidden behind a bookcase door in the Fairmont Hotel Vancouver, the tea room transforms into a floral fantasy, with blossoms covering the walls and cascading from the ceiling.

Afternoon Tea is $75 per person and is served Thursday through Sunday with seatings at 11 a.m., 1 p.m., and 3 p.m. The setting includes Fairmont-branded China, themed décor, and even an Instagram-ready floral throne.

The menu is as playful as the room. Savories include Coronation Chicken sandwiches, Devilled Egg, and other seasonal bites. The scones were a highlight for me — both the classic buttermilk and lavender-honey versions were buttery perfection. Sweets included a Lemon Curd Blueberry Almond Tea Cake and a charming Cherry Bakewell Cookie.

While the food and décor were fantastic, service was slower than expected, and the limited seating times meant we were rushed. They rushed us out the door before we'd even finished our drinks. At this price point, I would love to see longer seatings or additional staff support. Still, it remains one of my favorite themed teas in Vancouver for the sheer creativity and atmosphere.

Final Thoughts

From Victorian heritage charm at Patisserie Für Elise, to Parisian elegance at Ladurée, luxe hotel glamour at Bacchus, and garden party fantasies at Notch 8, Vancouver’s afternoon tea scene truly has it all. Each spot offers something unique — whether you’re after artistry, atmosphere, or indulgence.
